The IBM 00E1079 is an 8-slot SAS SFF DASD and media backplane, CCIN 2BD6, for IBM Power7 servers. It provides the connection platform for eight small form factor SAS drives and the media bay inside the system unit.

The backplane forms part of IBM feature EJ01, a storage backplane option made up of four parts: the backplane, a cache battery, a RAID card and a cable.

Typical use is replacing a failed backplane, or completing an EJ01 storage option in an existing Power7 server.
