The IBM 03N5893 is an SPCN connector/riser card, part of IBM’s System Power Control Network, the dedicated cabling and control loop that IBM Power servers use to monitor and manage power delivery to attached I/O expansion drawers independently of the main data path. SPCN carries power-on/power-off commands, environmental status and fault reporting between the central processor complex and each drawer on the loop, and a card of this type provides the physical connector point where that SPCN cabling attaches to the system backplane or drawer.
