The IBM 15R6790 is a ThinkPad T43 (model 2668) based Support Element, running a Linux-based management console with a single Ethernet interface. IBM has long shipped its mainframe and high-end Power Systems frames with a ruggedised laptop acting as the dedicated hardware management console, or Support Element (SE). Later frames use ThinkPad T510, T520, T530 and W520 models, and the T43 is an earlier generation of the same practice.
