The IBM 74Y5896 is a 6-slot SAS SFF DASD/media backplane, CCIN 2BBE, the disk and media bay backplane fitted to IBM’s 9117-MMB Power 770 pSeries/RS6000 chassis. It provides the SAS connectivity for up to six small-form-factor drive bays plus an integrated media slot, sitting behind the front drive cage and carrying power and data to each installed disk.
