The Marconi 102-2010-000 is a 24-port 10/100 Ethernet port card for the Marconi ESX-3000 switch. The ESX-3000 is built around a non-blocking 20 Gbit/s cell backplane that supports Ethernet or ATM port cards, and this card populates one of those slots with 24 auto-sensing 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports.

The ESX-3000 is Marconi’s metro Ethernet/ATM switching platform, deployed at the network edge to aggregate customer Ethernet traffic onto ATM or higher-speed Ethernet uplinks toward the core. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support for the platform, so installed ESX-3000 chassis are maintained from secondary-market spares such as this port card, fan trays and fabric/control cards.
