The Marconi 102-3211-000 is a Fabric/SCP (switch fabric and system control processor) card for the Marconi ESX-3000 switch. It provides the switching fabric that moves traffic between the chassis’s port cards across the non-blocking 20 Gbit/s cell backplane, combined with the control processor function that manages the chassis.

The ESX-3000 is Marconi’s metro Ethernet/ATM switching platform, supporting either Ethernet or ATM port cards behind a shared fabric, deployed at the network edge to aggregate customer traffic toward the core. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support for the platform, so installed ESX-3000 chassis are maintained from secondary-market spares such as this fabric/control card.
