The NEC X6718A-V01AA is a confirmed FOTS-ALM INTFC/PAR (Fiber Optic Transmission System Alarm Interface, Parallel) card for NEC’s FOTS (Fiber Optic Transmission System) FD-1840-series optical transmission platform. FOTS/FD-1840 systems are SDH/PDH-generation fibre-optic transmission equipment used to multiplex and carry voice, data and alarm signalling over optical fibre links in telecoms networks, and the platform’s card-cage design accepts a range of multiplexer, demultiplexer, interface and alarm-control cards to configure each terminal for its specific role.
