The Nortel AL2012A14 is a BayStack 450-24T, a stackable Layer 2/3 Ethernet switch with 24 10/100BASE-TX autosensing ports from Nortel’s BayStack 450 series. It supports Nortel’s BayStack stacking architecture for building larger logically-managed switch groups, along with the VLAN tagging, spanning tree and basic Layer 3 routing features standard to the 450 range, and accepts optional Gigabit uplink and redundant-power modules for expansion. It served widely as a wiring-closet and departmental switch in enterprise networks through the 2000s, and a substantial installed base remains in service today.
