The Nortel AL2012A37 is a BayStack 470-24T switch, a stackable Layer 2/3 Ethernet switch with 24 10/100BASE-TX autosensing ports from Nortel’s BayStack 470 series, the higher-capacity sibling to the 450 range with a faster stacking backplane and fuller Layer 3 routing feature set. It accepts optional Gigabit uplink and redundant-power modules and supports Nortel’s BayStack stacking architecture for building larger logically-managed switch groups. The 470 series was a common core and aggregation switch in mid-size enterprise networks through the 2000s, and a substantial installed base remains active today.
