The Nortel NT4N65AC is a 2-Port Core-to-Network Interface (CNI-2) card for Nortel’s Succession Communication Server for Enterprise (CSE) 1000 platform, sharing its NT4N-prefixed part numbering with the transition cards and disk unit already catalogued from the same cPCI family. The CNI-2 links the CSE 1000’s core call-processing complex to its network-interface shelves, carrying call-control and bearer signalling between them over its two ports. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market spare for maintaining an existing CSE 1000 cPCI cabinet. The CNI-2 is a common failure point on larger CSE 1000 configurations that span more than one shelf, since a fault on this card can isolate an entire network-interface shelf from the system’s core call-processing complex until it is replaced.
