Nortel NT4N68AA: CSE 1000 cPCI System Utility Transition Card.

The Nortel NT4N68AA is a CompactPCI (cPCI) System Utility Transition Card for Nortel’s Succession Communication Server for Enterprise (CSE) 1000 platform, sharing its NT4N-prefixed part numbering with the core network-interface, multimedia disk and CNI-2 transition cards from the same family. It is the rear transition card for the shelf’s system utility function, carrying alarm, clock and housekeeping connections through to the front-mounted active card. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market spare for maintaining an existing CSE 1000 cPCI cabinet. Because a transition card carries no active electronics of its own, a fault that looks like a failed system utility card can sometimes be resolved simply by replacing this rear transition card rather than the more expensive active card fitted at the front.
