The ZyXEL ES1100-24 is a 24-port unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch presenting 24 RJ-45 10/100BASE-TX ports in a 1U rack-mount case. It belongs to the ES1100 series, ZyXEL’s plain unmanaged line, and is aimed at offices, schools and light industrial sites that need a reliable block of Fast Ethernet ports without VLANs or SNMP. Ports autosense speed and duplex and support auto-MDI/MDIX so uplinks need no crossover lead, and the store-and-forward fabric with 802.3x flow control keeps a congested port from dropping frames across the rest of the switch. The fanless design in most production runs makes it suitable for open-plan areas and comms cupboards where noise is a consideration.
