48-port 10/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet switching module for the 3Com Switch 7700/7750 chassis.

The 3Com 3C16889 is a 48-port 10/100BASE-TX switching module compatible with both the 3Com Switch 7700 and Switch 7750 modular chassis switches. It provides 48 Fast Ethernet RJ-45 ports over Category 5 copper cabling, with auto-sensing 10M/100M half or full duplex operation and MDI/MDIX auto-detection.

The module is intended for high-density Fast Ethernet aggregation where Gigabit ports are not required, and like other Switch 7700/7750 modules it supports on-board local Layer 2 switching to reduce backplane loading, installing into one of the chassis’s I/O module slots below the fabric module.
