The IBM 03N4481 is a 1.9GHz 2-Way POWER5 processor card for IBM’s 9117-570 pSeries server. The two POWER5 processors on the card share 1.9MB of L2 cache and 36MB of L3 cache, and the card plugs into the CEC backplane to provide compute capacity for the 570 platform, one of IBM’s Power5-generation mid-range/enterprise server family. Processor cards of this type are a standard field-replaceable upgrade or repair part for 570-class systems, swapped in either to restore a failed processor slot or to add compute capacity to an existing frame.
