Finisar FTLF8524P2BNV: 4Gb Fibre Channel shortwave SFP, 850nm multimode with digital diagnostic monitoring.

The Finisar FTLF8524P2BNV is a 4.25Gb/s shortwave SFP transceiver built for Fibre Channel storage networks, operating at 850nm over multimode fibre with an LC duplex connector.

It is a multi-rate part, dropping back to 2.125Gb/s and 1.0625Gb/s so it can be fitted to older director and fabric switch ports as well as 4Gb ones, and it carries the SFF-8472 digital diagnostic monitoring interface that reports transmit power, receive power, bias current, temperature and supply voltage to the host. Reach is around 150 metres on 62.5 micron fibre and 380 metres on 50 micron at the full 4Gb rate. The P2BNV suffix denotes the RoHS compliant commercial temperature build.
