The EMC 100-562-144 is a storage processor board for the CLARiiON CX3 series, carrying eight Fibre Channel ports. It is the controller half of a CX3-40 storage processor enclosure, running the FLARE operating environment, owning the RAID groups and LUNs presented to hosts, and handling cache and failover with its partner processor in the same enclosure.

Vendors list this board against both the CX3-40C and the CX3-40F, the two members of the CX3-40 pair, so check which enclosure yours is before ordering. CX3 arrays run their two storage processors as a redundant pair, which means a single board is the normal replacement rather than a matched set, and a swap can usually be done without taking the array down.
