The ZyXEL ES-1024A is a 24-port unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch in a 1U rack-mount steel case, built for wiring-closet and small-office duty where port count matters more than management features. Every port autosenses 10 or 100 Mbit and half or full duplex and supports auto-MDI/MDIX, so any port can take an uplink without a crossover lead. The switch uses a non-blocking store-and-forward fabric with an 8K MAC address table and IEEE 802.3x flow control, and it carries an internal power supply rather than an external brick. With no configuration to lose it is a straightforward swap for a failed unmanaged switch, which is the most common reason it is still bought. ZyXEL numbered later production of the same design ES-1024B, and the two are functionally interchangeable in service. Tech-Star is UK based and ships worldwide.
