The 3Com 3C16890 is a 48-port 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE switching module for the 3Com Switch 7700/7750 series modular chassis switch, delivering 48 Power over Ethernet Gigabit copper ports over RJ-45 for powering IP phones, wireless access points and other PoE devices directly from the switch.

The module combines the same on-board local Layer 2 switching used across the Switch 7700 module range with integrated PoE, reducing the need for separate power injectors on end devices. It carries a manufacturer-quoted MTBF of around 39 years (342,000 hours).
