The 3Com Wireless LAN Controller WX2200 (3CRWX220095A) is a centralised controller for 3Com’s Wireless LAN Managed Access Point (MAP) range, designed for networks with multiple offices or more demanding, secure WLAN deployments. Working with 3Com Wireless Switch Manager software, it centrally configures, monitors and secures the wireless estate rather than managing each access point individually.

The WX2200 ships licensed to support 24 Managed Access Points and can be expanded in blocks of 24 up to a maximum of 120 MAPs, giving a pay-as-you-grow licensing model as a wireless estate expands. It includes 2 x SFP (mini-GBIC) ports for uplinking into the wired network and switches at up to 2 Gbit/s.

It is compatible with 3Com’s MAP family, including the 3750 and 3850 managed access points, making it a natural fit for sites standardising on the 3Com/HP wireless controller architecture.
