HP J9627A Hewlett-Packard HP / HPE / Aruba enterprise networking and server portfolio Datacentre Switch

The HP J9627A is a 2620-48-PoE+ managed switch. The 2620 series was HP’s Fast Ethernet access tier, sold for wiring closets where the desktops did not need Gigabit but the phones and access points needed Power over Ethernet, and this model provides 48 PoE+ capable access ports with Gigabit uplinks. Configuration is held on the switch rather than on a controller, so a replacement unit can be brought into service by restoring a saved configuration file.

HP’s networking range, later rebadged Aruba, covered fixed configuration managed switches from small office access up to stacked campus wiring closets. The 2530, 2620 and 2920 families sit in that access tier, offering Gigabit copper, optional Power over Ethernet and SFP or SFP+ uplinks, with a lifetime warranty policy that put a great many of them into service. They are common, well documented and straightforward to replace like for like.
