The Cisco MEM181X-256D is a 256MB SODIMM DRAM module for the Cisco 1800 series fixed-configuration routers (181x range), fitted as a memory upgrade or replacement where the router’s working memory needs to be increased beyond its base specification. The 1800 series fixed-chassis routers are used in small-branch and teleworker deployments, and additional memory is a routine requirement where the router is running IOS feature sets – security, VPN or voice services – that exceed what the base memory configuration comfortably supports.
