The Cisco MEM-C4K-512D-SDRAM= is a 512MB DIMM DRAM module for the Catalyst 4500 series Supervisor Engine II-Plus-10GE and Supervisor Engine V-10GE, fitted as a memory upgrade to increase the working memory available for routing tables, ACLs and other supervisor functions on these earlier 10-Gigabit-capable supervisor engines. Adequate supervisor memory becomes more important as a Catalyst 4500 chassis is populated with more line cards and larger routing/switching tables, and memory upgrades of this kind are a routine requirement on chassis that have grown beyond their original specification over the platform’s service life. Fitting is a standard DIMM swap on the supervisor engine with no other chassis changes required.
