Nortel NTCA70UL: Nortel Optical Metro 2.5 Gbit/s wavelength translator circuit pack.

The Nortel NTCA70UL is a 2.5G WT circuit pack. WT is the wavelength translator, the Optical Metro function that takes a client signal and re-transmits it on an assigned DWDM wavelength, and 2.5 Gbit/s is the line rate the pack is built for.

Nortel’s Optical Metro 5100 and 5200, originally sold as OPTera Metro, are DWDM transport systems for metro fibre networks. The 5100 has four traffic slots and the 5200 has sixteen, filled with circuit packs such as the optical channel interface, the optical channel laser and detector, transponders, and the shelf processor and optical service channel cards that manage them.
