The Cisco L1010-ASP-B (73-1402-06) is an ATM Switch Processor ‘B’ module for the Cisco LightStream 1010 ATM switch, an early ATM switching platform used in campus and WAN-core deployments during the 1990s and early 2000s ATM era. The switch processor is the LightStream 1010’s core system module, hosting the switch’s 5Gbps non-blocking shared-memory switching fabric together with the RISC CPU that runs the unit’s signalling and management functions – the component every port module in the chassis depends on to function. It is a legacy spare, kept for the small number of ATM-core deployments still running LightStream 1010 hardware rather than for new installations.
