The FORE Systems NM-4/155MM is a four-port 155 Mbps multimode fibre network module for ForeRunner ASX switches. It provides four OC-3c/STM-1 ATM ports over multimode fibre from one chassis slot, the density most ASX installations used for building and campus links. Multimode limits the reach compared with the single-mode variants in the same family, so check the intended span before substituting one for the other.

The ForeRunner ASX switches it belongs to were FORE Systems’ main ATM platform, carried forward under Marconi after GEC bought the company in 1999.
