The Foundry RPS3 is a power supply for the FastIron 400 and FastIron 800 chassis, accepting 90 to 220 V AC input. The wide input range means the same unit works on both 110 V and 230 V supplies without a link change, which is why it appears in mixed-region installations. FastIron chassis take multiple supplies for redundancy, so an additional unit is as often ordered to fill an empty bay as to replace a failure.

Kit from Foundry’s range stays in service in networks built out in the 2000s, where the switching is still adequate and replacing it would mean re-cabling. Foundry was acquired by Brocade in 2008.
