One product heritage runs through three company names, plus the DEC network hardware that joined it early on.
1998: Cabletron acquired the network hardware business of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). DEC-numbered network modules are catalogued under Cabletron.
2000 to 2001: Cabletron reorganised and its enterprise networking lines continued as Enterasys Networks.
2013: Extreme Networks acquired Enterasys and the product lines continued under the Extreme name.

The Symbol wireless LAN portfolio has changed hands three times, and units in the field carry any of four badges.
2007: Motorola acquired Symbol Technologies.
2014: Motorola Solutions sold its Enterprise business to Zebra Technologies.
2016: Extreme Networks acquired the Zebra wireless LAN business (WiNG controllers and access points). Scanners and printers stayed with Zebra.
