It gives the 520 its entry-level processor configuration, below the 2-way and 4-way boards used in more heavily configured systems of the same machine. The 8203-E4A ran AIX, IBM i and Linux as an entry POWER6 server, and 1-way backplanes of this type are sourced to repair or downgrade an existing 520 rather than for new deployment.
