IBM 7316/6357 server / storage / networking hardware Server Hardware / Parts

The IBM 7316/6357 is an IBM PS2-style travel keyboard, part of the accessory range for IBM’s 7316 rack console family used to provide local KVM access to a rack of servers without dedicating a full-size keyboard tray to the rack. The compact travel-keyboard form factor is designed for occasional local administration in space-constrained rack environments, connecting via the standard PS/2 interface common on IBM’s rack console hardware of this generation. As data centres retire older 7316 console drawers in favour of newer console-switch designs, spare and replacement keyboards for the existing installed base remain in steady demand, since the console unit itself is often serviceable well after the original keyboard has worn out or gone missing. Buyers should confirm their specific 7316 console model and connector type before ordering, as IBM’s console range spans several console generations with differing keyboard interfaces. Tech-Star (UK-based, shipped worldwide) can help confirm compatibility with your console.
