The Marconi 131-8682/23 is an MSH51C STM-1 tributary card, S-1.1 short-haul optics at 1310nm on SC/PC connectors, part of Marconi’s MSH family of SDH digital cross-connects and multiplexers. It brings a 155 Mbit/s optical tributary into the shelf’s switching matrix, the card’s own marking confirming both the MSH51C variant and the S-1.1 optical class.

The MSH range (MSH51C, MSH64C, MSH80, MSH84 and MSH86 among the variants) is built around a switching matrix surrounded by tributary and aggregate interface cards, cross connecting virtual containers between every port in the shelf. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so the installed base is maintained from secondary-market spares rather than new production.
