Nortel DS1404063: 8630GBR 30-port Gigabit routing switch module for the Passport and ERS 8600 chassis.

The Nortel DS1404063 is a 30-port Gigabit Ethernet routing switch module, the 8630GBR, built for the Nortel Passport and Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 chassis. It combines routing and switching on one module and is built on a 30-port SFP GBIC baseboard.

The module also carries Avaya branding and is found with the DS1404063-E5 suffix. It has been declared manufacturing discontinued, which makes spare modules the practical way to keep existing 8600 networks running.

Typical use is adding Gigabit ports to an 8600 chassis, or replacing a failed routing switch module so the system returns to full capacity and redundancy.
