RAD 3850170000 RICi Telecom System Card / Module

The RAD RICi-E1, part number 3850170000, is a Fast Ethernet over E1/T1 network termination unit (NTU) from RAD Data Communications, designed to extend Ethernet connectivity across existing E1 or T1 telecom circuits. The unit combines an E1/T1 framer for line-side formatting and extraction, a control CPU, a user-side Ethernet port and a network-side E1/T1 interface, together with an RS-232 management port for local configuration via an ASCII terminal, and supports up to five concurrent remote management sessions alongside the terminal connection. This makes the RICi-E1 well suited to scenarios such as connecting a remote Ethernet LAN back to a central network over leased E1/T1 lines, effectively converting narrowband telecom transmission capacity into a usable Ethernet handoff at each end of the link.
