The IBM 21P6679 is a PCI RAID Disk Unit Controller, IBM feature code 2748, for the AS/400 and iSeries platform (compatible with the 9406 Models 820, 830, 840, 550 and others of that generation). It is an Ultra2 SCSI controller with 26MB of write cache, providing RAID 0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 protection for up to 15 internal disk drives, and also supports attached tape and CD-ROM units on the same bus.

A minimum of four same-capacity drives is needed for a valid RAID 5 array, with up to three arrays and ten drives per array supported per controller.
