The Marconi 131-9554/01 is a power supply unit with integral cooling fans, part of Marconi’s MSH family of SDH digital cross-connects and multiplexers. It feeds the shelf’s DC rails and provides forced-air cooling for the matrix and interface cards around it, a combined power and thermal-management module rather than a separate fan tray.

The MSH range (MSH64C, MSH80, MSH84 and MSH86 among the variants) is built as a switching matrix surrounded by tributary and aggregate interface cards, with power and cooling modules such as this one keeping the shelf within its operating limits. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so every MSH site still running is maintained from secondary-market spares.
