The Marconi 131-8748/01 is a power supply connection unit for Marconi’s MSH digital cross-connect shelf (DCS), part of Marconi’s MSH family of SDH digital cross-connects and multiplexers. It connects the shelf’s power feeds through to the matrix and interface cards, the physical interconnect between the DC supply and the rest of the DCS.

The MSH range (MSH64C, MSH80, MSH84 and MSH86 among the variants) is built around a switching matrix surrounded by tributary and aggregate interface cards, with power connection units such as this one part of the shelf’s core infrastructure. Marconi’s 2006 collapse ended factory support, so every MSH site still running is maintained from secondary-market spares.
