Netgear WG602V2: 54Mbps 802.11g wireless access point, hardware version 2.

The Netgear WG602V2 is an 802.11g wireless access point rated at 54Mbps, the second hardware revision of the WG602. It bridges a wired Ethernet segment to a 2.4GHz wireless cell and is configured through a browser on its Ethernet port.

Security covers WEP and WPA encryption, MAC address filtering and SSID suppression. Version 2 is a different board from version 1 and from the later v3 and v4, running its own firmware line, so match the revision printed on the base of the unit when replacing one in an existing installation.

Access points of this generation stay in service on isolated networks and in plant environments where the wireless requirement is modest and a like for like replacement matters more than throughput.
