The Finisar FTRJ8519P1BNL is an 850 nm multimode SFP transceiver with an LC duplex connector, rated for 1 Gigabit and 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel and equally usable for 1000BASE-SX Gigabit Ethernet.

Short wavelength optics of this class run over the OM1 and OM2 multimode fibre installed in most buildings of that period, with the usable distance falling as the rate rises, so a 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel link reaches noticeably less far than the same fibre carrying gigabit Ethernet. The module is a standard MSA SFP and seats in any compliant cage, though host equipment that checks the vendor identifier may need a coded variant.
