The Finisar FTLX1412D3BCL-HC is a 10GBASE-LR XFP transceiver with a 1310 nm source, rated for 10 km over single-mode fibre and supporting digital diagnostic monitoring.

The HC coding identifies a build supplied for H3C equipment, which reads the vendor identifier out of the module’s EEPROM at insertion; the optics themselves are the standard long reach 10 Gigabit part. XFP predates SFP+ as the 10 Gigabit pluggable form factor and is found on switch and router line cards of that generation, so a replacement has to match the cage as well as the reach. Long reach modules of this class link buildings and connect a data centre to its network edge. Finisar merged with II-VI in 2019 and the transceiver business now trades as Coherent.
