The FORE Systems NM-4/155MMSCD is a 4-port OC-3 multimode-fibre ATM network interface module for FORE’s ATM switching platforms, the ‘D’ revision of the NM-4/155MMSC family (see also the ‘C’ and ‘E’ revisions, 155MMSCC and 155MMSCE, sold alongside it). FORE Systems was acquired by GEC in 1999 and reformed as Marconi, and Marconi’s transmission assets passed to Ericsson in 2006; the module’s function and port configuration are unchanged across that ownership history.
