Cabletron SSR-2-PKG-AA: SmartSwitch Router 2000 with 24 x 10/100BASE-TX ports and a 2-port 1000BASE-SX Gigabit expansion module.

The Cabletron SSR-2-PKG-AA is a SmartSwitch Router 2000 (SSR 2000), a wire-speed workgroup switch-router providing 24 ports of 10/100BASE-TX switching alongside a 2-port 1000BASE-SX Gigabit expansion module for uplink connectivity.

The SSR 2000 platform supports Layer 2, 3 and 4 IP and IPX routing at wire speed, with Cabletron’s CoreWatch management software providing a Java-based GUI for VLAN configuration, QoS policy, ACLs and performance monitoring. It was positioned as a workgroup router-switch for enterprise networks needing routing intelligence at the edge rather than a pure Layer 2 switch.

It’s a good match for organisations maintaining an existing Cabletron SmartSwitch Router estate who need matching hardware for expansion, redundancy or like-for-like replacement. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide. Get in touch to confirm compatibility with your network.
