The Extreme Networks 10121 is an Extreme-certified 10GBASE-SR XFP optical transceiver, supplied under Extreme assembly number 4050-00026-02. It carries 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 850 nm over multimode fibre, reaching roughly 300 m on OM3 and progressively less on the older OM2 and OM1 grades, and presents a duplex LC interface.

SR is the short-reach option for in-building and intra-datacentre links between switches, or between a switch and a directly attached server. The XFP form factor belongs to the first generation of 10 Gigabit pluggables, so the module suits Extreme chassis and switches with XFP cages rather than the SFP+ ports fitted to later hardware.
