The Extreme Networks 10122 is an Extreme-certified 10GBASE-LR XFP optical transceiver, supplied under Extreme assembly number 4050-00025-01. It carries 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 1310 nm over single-mode fibre to the standard LR reach of around 10 km, and presents a duplex LC interface.

XFP is the earlier 10 Gigabit pluggable form factor that preceded SFP+, so this module fits XFP cages on Extreme platforms of that generation rather than the SFP+ ports on later Summit switches. An Extreme-coded module carries the vendor identifier the switch software expects, which matters on systems configured to reject optics they do not recognise.
