The HP 970-0136-50 is a Fibre Channel host I/O module for HP’s 3PAR StoreServ storage array family, the plug-in card that gives an array’s controller its Fibre Channel host ports for connecting to a SAN fabric or directly-attached hosts. 3PAR arrays use modular host I/O cards so a site can mix Fibre Channel, iSCSI and other host connection types across an array’s controller nodes as its connectivity needs change, rather than being fixed to whatever ports the controller shipped with.
