The HP 459526-001 is an Onboard Administrator module with the KVM option for HP’s BladeSystem c7000 blade enclosure, the management module that provides centralised power, thermal, and configuration control for all the blade servers and interconnect modules fitted in the enclosure, plus remote KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) access to individual blades. A c7000 enclosure runs with either one or, for redundancy, two Onboard Administrator modules, and this is a spare or replacement unit for a chassis running this generation of OA hardware. Losing the Onboard Administrator does not take down the blades already running, but it does remove remote management and monitoring until it is replaced, so a spare is a standard item for sites running c7000 enclosures at scale.
