The HP 451785-001 is a fan module for HP’s BladeSystem c7000 blade enclosure, one of the ten hot-plug fan modules that provide the enclosure’s active cooling across its blade bays and interconnect bays. The c7000 draws significant airflow through a fully populated chassis, and HP designed the fan modules as hot-swappable so a failed unit can be replaced without powering down the enclosure or its running blades, provided the remaining fans can maintain adequate cooling during the swap. A worn or failed fan typically shows as a thermal or fan-fault alert in the Onboard Administrator before it becomes a cooling problem for the blades themselves, and replacing it promptly avoids a wider thermal shutdown risk.
