HP EH847-69201 Hewlett-Packard HP ProCurve networking / enterprise server hardware Datacentre Switch

The HP EH847-69201 is a StorageWorks Ultrium 920 tape drive, HP’s LTO-3 generation Ultrium drive giving 400GB native / 800GB compressed capacity per cartridge, fitted here with a SAS interface for direct connection to a server’s SAS controller or a SAS-attached tape autoloader/library. The Ultrium 920 was HP’s mainstream LTO-3 drive through the mid-2000s, offering considerably more capacity and throughput than the older DDS/DAT format, and remains in service at sites running legacy LTO-3 backup workflows or needing to restore from archived LTO-3 media, since data written on LTO drives is generally only readable by that generation and the one above and below it. The SAS interface variant is not interchangeable with the SCSI or Fibre Channel versions of the same drive, which use different host connections. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide.
