The HP J9088A is a ProCurve Switch 2610-48, a 48-port managed multi-layer switch offering 10/100 access ports plus 4 Gigabit uplink ports (2 x 10/100/1000Base-T and 2 x mini-GBIC), part of HP’s 2610 series aimed at mid-size wiring closets needing more port density than the 24-port 2610-24. Its dual copper-or-fibre Gigabit uplink pairing gives network designers flexibility to uplink over copper or fibre depending on what’s available at a given site, without needing a different switch model for each case.
