IBM 00E0658: RAID and cache storage controller, CCIN 2B4C, for IBM Power7 servers.

The IBM 00E0658 is a RAID and cache storage controller for IBM Power7 servers, carrying CCIN 2B4C. It provides the RAID and cache functions for the internal disk drives of the system unit.

The controller works alongside the 00E0665 card and a cache battery (74Y9340), and forms part of IBM feature EJ01. That storage backplane option is made up of an 8-slot SFF backplane, a cache battery, a RAID card and a cable. Power7 models that use it include the 8202 and 8205.

Typical use is replacing a failed RAID controller, or rebuilding a complete EJ01 storage option in an existing Power7 server.
