The IBM 74Y3311 is a RAID enablement card, CCIN 2BE1. Along with sibling part 74Y3358, it is the RAID-enablement daughter card fitted to storage backplane features 5268 and 5630 on IBM’s POWER7 8202-E4B server range. It unlocks RAID functionality on the storage backplane it plugs into, rather than being a controller in its own right.

Enablement cards are matched to a specific backplane generation. POWER7-era hardware remains in active enterprise service, and a spare enablement card is a routine requirement for restoring RAID functionality on a backplane after a fault.
