The IBM 74Y3778 is a Flexible Service Processor (FSP) card, CCIN 2BBB. Along with sibling part numbers 74Y3780, 74Y3781 and 74Y3666, it is the FSP module fitted to IBM’s Power 770 (9117-MMB) POWER7 server. The FSP is the independent service processor that boots and monitors the main system, handling power-on sequencing, error reporting and remote-console access even when the main processors are not running.

A failed FSP can prevent the whole system from powering on, so a spare FSP card is a routine requirement for keeping Power 770 hardware of this generation in service. Tech-Star supplies IBM Power Systems components from the UK and ships worldwide.
